Crime from the Bird's Eye View

I think to initiate a discussion on crime, we must first have an overall view of crime. And probably the following questions can help:

1) What is crime?
2) What are the different types of crime?
3) What is the difference between an offence, a misdemeanor, a felony and a capital crime?
4) What causes crime?
5) What are the different types of solutions to crime?
6) How about punishments?
7) What is the objective of punishment?
8) What is the function of the courts in the process?
9) How many different types of court are there in general and in Singapore?
10) How can we prevent crime?

Youth crime is caused by overcommitment to work and economic pressures and undercommitment to the all-round growth of young people --- 90% of the time

I believe many Singaporeans will not be familiar to the Muslim court in our country. The Muslim court is a component in dealing with issues pertinent to Muslim affairs. Is it possible if you could list the countries with a parallel court of law and their proceedings, make the info. available on your blog?
