Tues is supposed to be my shortest day, but somehow, I still left like any other day these days... 630pm. Sigh. Anyway, i guess i will never outrun work, so let's leave it.
Well, i came home and as usual, the girls were so welcoming. Shiroii was already barking behind the door when she heard the lift door open. And both of them were trying to jump up and kiss me. Nothing like dogs, I say. They don't complain, even if I no longer come home earlier to spend time with them and they are always so welcoming. I think everyone should try ownng a pet at some point of his life - animals open up a new side of a person. I swear. It makes you appreciate life more too ")
I bathed Huey. I am not sure she enjoys showers; she is always so quiet and still when I bathe her, unlike her usual energetic self. Anyway she smells so nice now and her fur is so soft, so I think it's great that I bathe her. Shiroii seems to have recovered from the operation totally. Except for some internal bleeding evident from her bruise, she is running all around and barking like usual. It's great to have both girls healthy and happy.
Today, we walked around the neighbourhood and tried a new Japanese restaurant. Check out my label "All About Food" for my comments ")

The Duracell Rabbit...
The viral cold started on the Thurs of the NDP holidays. Basically, that means one lovely long weekend gone, spent nursing a burning fever, a sore throat and increasingly going off to Sleepyland. All my visions of finishing my growing pile of marking dissipated day by day, though I was trying my darnest to finish. Somedays, I was not only sleeping later than hubby, but even the girls gave up on me and went to Doggy Sleepyland...
Now, am paying the price - the files are just everywhere. I am sitting among students' files... and every lesson, the students' neverending desire to get back their work gets me. Sorry, guys, you can have them if you want them unmarked. Otheriwse, got to wait for convalescing me... Over the weekend, hubby tried to make sure i sleep on time, but well, when a man is asleep or when he is watching soccer, he pretty much leaves you alone ")
So there, my blog finally! I must say I am quite proud of my maiden effort. It's very amateurish and I still don't know much of what my students are talking abt - I mean, what tags? huh? You know those ghost stories, like how new ghosts dunno their powers yet... haha... same lah. Dunno what I can do with the blog much yet... but give me time... ANyway, I still feel quite happy with my effort so far ")
I must say the kids have been great. They can tell that I am suffering, so they have really tried to quieten down and not compete with me when I speak these days. I really appreciate that. You wonderful children, MUAKS! Haha ")
The colleagues have been great too, coming round with honey and lozenges and the like ") Still, no one can do my work. I MUST clear that marking! *determined look* And I can't afford any more MCs - I have yet to do make-up for those I miss. Sigh, it's no good to be sick of one is a teacher...
All I can say is that this spell of illness is a wake-up call. I have never been sick for so long before It astonished and worried me a bit. I suppose part of it has to do with age... sigh, there's no running away from it even if one is young at heart "(
Ok, here goes another week! *Sunshine smile!!!*

Japanese - the way to go!
Right now, I am into Japanese food, which is kinda strange, cos I used to have a real aversion to the idea of Japanese food. I thought it was all raw food and frankly, for someone, who had food poisoning from sashimi before, you will not persuade me to have another go at sashimi. I always feel good after a Japanese meal - it is like a reward for a hard day and when you are done with the meal, there is a deep-seated kind of well-being inside you - none of the oily or jelat feeling that makes a meal all bad. Yums...
Global Warming
How did you feel after watching Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth"? It was an awakening for me. Seeing the graphs and pictures really jolted me and the forecast abt countries that will be swarmed and the ice age.... the end of the world never felt so near. For one now, I make sure power is switched off, when not in use, photocopy both sides of paper and always have a personal shopping bag with me. What are you doing on your own? Or maybe with your friends? With your class?
Crime from the Bird's Eye View
I think to initiate a discussion on crime, we must first have an overall view of crime. And probably the following questions can help:
1) What is crime?
2) What are the different types of crime?
3) What is the difference between an offence, a misdemeanor, a felony and a capital crime?
4) What causes crime?
5) What are the different types of solutions to crime?
6) How about punishments?
7) What is the objective of punishment?
8) What is the function of the courts in the process?
9) How many different types of court are there in general and in Singapore?
10) How can we prevent crime?
